St. Peter’s Prep is off to a cracking start to the season, dominating in all three of its games thus far. Most recently, the Marauders, ranked 14th in the nation by DigitalSports and 2nd in New Jersey, face rival Seton Hall Prep in a heavily one-sided match.
Brandon Wimbush was brilliant, throwing two touchdowns and rushing for two others. Getting things started early, Wimbush hit KJ Gray and Kolton Huber for scores in the first quarter. Corey Caddle punched in a 1-yard run, capping off a 21-3 first quarter for St. Peter’s.
The following three quarters followed a similar pattern to that of the first. The Marauders continued to dominate on both sides of the ball. By the final whistle, St. Peter’s had built a 48-10 lead.
Wimbush finished having completed 15 of 18 passes for 246 yards and 69 rushing yards to accompany his four combine touchdowns. Huber ended with five receptions for 75 yards. The versatile Minkah Fitzpatrick caught five passes for 70 yards and carried the ball five times for another 49 yards.
Win after win, St. Peter’s continues to climb its way up the rankings. The Marauders next test comes on Friday, Sept 26 at 7:30pm when St. Peter’s faces 96th ranked IMG Academy from Florida.
